BURBANK (July 28, 2008) — My Eye Media, a specialist in providing unbiased, clinical QC analysis and an entertainment industry leader in post-production technical services, today announced it has joined the Blu-ray Disc Association (www.blu-raydisc.com) as a general member.
The announcement was made by My Eye Media founder and CEO Michael Kadenacy.
“I believe our membership in the Blu-ray Disc Association demonstrates our commitment to the vitality and longevity of the format, and to our clients who release their product on Blu-ray,” Kadenacy said.
The Blu-Ray Disc (BD) format was introduced in 2002 as the next generation in optical storage. The format offers abundant storage capacity (up to 50GB) that is ideal for High Definition video recording and distribution, as well as for storing large amounts of data. The format shares the same form factors as existing CD and DVD optical discs, allowing for backwards compatibility.
The Blu-ray Disc Association, established in 2005, is comprised of a group of companies dedicated to developing, upholding and promoting the BD format.
In February 2008, My Eye Media launched Blu-qual™, a state-of-the-art BD testing solution designed to analyze the complexities of this emerging home entertainment medium.
According to Kadenacy, the company created and implemented Blu-qual to capitalize on its core strengths — technical proficiency, proprietary database technology and unique testing methodologies — for the maximum benefit of its clients. In doing so, Kadenacy said, My Eye Media set the standard for quality assurance in the BD market.
“The fact is, we’ve been evaluating picture and sound in all of its forms for a significant amount of time,” Kadenacy said. “Our skill set on the mastering side of the equation makes us unique and the right choice to ensure that a disc accurately represents its producer’s intent.”
