BURBANK, Calif., October 19, 2009 — My Eye Media has announced that industry veteran Stephen J. Waugh has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.
According to My Eye Media CEO Michael Kadenacy, Waugh will oversee the company’s digital delivery initiatives, IT infrastructure and research and development of new technologies. Waugh will also spearhead the analysis of digital file codecs and implementation of cutting-edge tools that further support the expanding needs of clients.
“We’re excited to have an engineer of Steve’s caliber as part of the My Eye Media family,” Kadenacy said. “His many years of developing digital infrastructure and his extensive experience in facility management systems make him ideally suited to lead us into the future.”
Waugh said he looks forward to the challenges that await him at My Eye Media.
“I’m welcoming the opportunity to truly make a mark,” Waugh said. “My Eye Media is a great company and a leader in its field. I believe it’s vitally important for the industry to integrate independent, third-party QC into the tapeless workflow, and I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge and expertise to a company that has set the standard in this regard.”
Prior to joining My Eye Media, Waugh served as Vice President of Digital Media at Technicolor Distribution Services, where he was responsible for technical operations, digital workflow development, resource planning and budgeting for Technicolor’s Digital Content Delivery facility. He was also the lead designer and developer of Technicolor’s OASIS production system and other tools to manage postproduction workflows.
Before that, Waugh managed the Aerospace Engineering lab at the University of Southern California. He graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
